Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James D. Smith, in 1999; her daughter, Sally Bagdon; and her brother, Ray Kinnard. She also gained a great love and appreciation for the culture and people of Hawaii. She will be buried Friday, at 11:00 a.m., in Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Cemetery at 901 Channel Drive, Santa Barbara, CA 93108. Dance meant so much to me. She did most of her growing up in the small town of Manassa Colorado, and moved to Albuquerque, NM when she was in the 6th grade. I was not athletic, shy to a fault and scared to death. Lenore Kinnard Smith, 99, formerly of New Kensington, passed away peacefully Monday, June 22, 2020. She has touched so many lives, more than her family can even comprehend, through her love of teaching and her love of dance.
She later graduated from Duff's Business College in Pittsburgh. Lenore was born February 29, 1924 in Long Beach, California. An LDS dance festival was planned for 1971 and there were plenty of girls, they just needed boys to dance with them. I am so sorry for her loss and so glad I knew her long ago.I have started dancing with Miss Lenore sence I was 3 years old. Eventually, she took ownership of the studio, renaming it 'Lenore Smith Dance Arts'. Lenore Smith passed away in Bakersfield, California. Plant a tree to honor the memory of your loved one. Her family later moved to Hollywood, California to help her pursue that dream. Surviving are her children, James W.
