Local roads that are not significant for routing. The LGMA holds a number of datasets that are maintained by individual local authorities but stored centrally by the LGMA. It should generally also be used for L5000-L8999 ("Local Secondary" roads), but where a road in this range seems important for routing you may wish to tag it as tertiary. We can use the published road lengths to estimate where this split is, although road measurements in OSM will rarely match exactly with the published lengths.

Where a road number is known, this tag should always be used for L9000-L99999 ("Local Tertiary" roads). Does anyone know where I can get a comprehensive list of all the Local Road numbers in Ireland? Laois L5032 is the start of local secondary numbers but L5732 is an odd, high-numbered primary.
