Decorated with oversized black and white photos that depict old Wellesley.

We always look forward to a visit to this energetic (for the suburbs) restaurant with friendly staff and consistently good comfort food.

The Local brings the British gastropub tradition to the Boston ‘burbs. We were staying in Wellesley for a professional development conference and were looking for a place to grab dinner after arriving. Everything was very clean and everyone was wearing a mask. This is the ONLY restaurant that can get me to eat and love Brussels sprouts... the lime soy glaze that it comes with is addictive. The selection is quite good here at the boutique in Chestnut Hill. Our family of six ordered a variety of dishes including appetizers and drinks. Very nice dinner spot. Have heard great things about The Local and finally went to find out for ourselves. Are they offering sit-down dining?How is this business operating during COVID-19? Where else would you find fig and prosciutto flatbreads, Buffalo cauliflower, tuna bowls, or stuffed squash? The Korean street tacos were incredibly flavorful and took me by surprise by how filling they were. Service was mediocre so be prepared to manage the process yourself. What safety measures are they taking?

Mine lacked shaved Brussel Sprouts as expressed on the menu and I didn't taste an Avocado Crema dressing. My time here we grabbed a table and I was impressed by their menu - a large number of items seemed appealing to me and they had a great line-up of appetizers - always a good sign. Cara was a great waitress!

The Local is the perfect place to come with a group of friends or family for a brunch on Saturday, Sunday or holiday Mondays. Try the homemade warm potato chips with dip. The restaurant is kid friendly but nicely decorated and I could see bringing a casual date here as well.
