He serves the towns really only to safeguard his operations. I loved them and it's still are great show today. He terrifies his own men with a costume that does the Batman proud and a laugh that chills. I am completely satisfied.
Only two know the Scarecrows true identity, his sexton Mipps (George Cole), and the local Justice of the Peaces son, John (Sean Scully, from Disneys The Prince and the Pauper). I really wish that Disney had made more films of The Scarecrow for us Scarecrow fans to enjoy. It's a swashbuckling kids movie with great acting, and the filming locations along the English coast are a treat.
