What Wendig doesn’t do is veer off into the cartoonish which King, at times, has a tendency to do. Wanderers is a very American tale, a story ostensibly about a group of strangers who walk out of their lives and begin a journey across the country for reasons that are opaque to those around them, but really about the USA today. So, I'm going to honor the fact that you're taking a moment to see what I have to say about it--among the countless other reviews out there available to you. They're bad, period, but there is also cause for hope in the sense that, at the micro level, some people are inherently good and will help, in that sort of Mr. Rogers "Look for the helpers" kind of way.So, the key thing for the book for me was that I really needed to find a hopeful thing and not let it be just sort of a social media outrage. I loved the rock star. Why are they walking? For no apparent reason, a number of individuals, young old, mixed religions and mixed races begin walking. ... inside Wanderers, and thankfully so — but it is sometimes a wee bit spooky to see the ... the power that rules over them in a socio-political way. Welcome back. I think it's safe to say that this is a highly anticipated release this year and it's certainly getting a ton of coverage. There won't be any plot details here--just my reading experiences and feelings.If you're reading this review, it means that you're interested in my individual experience with this book WANDERERS. I didn't expect it to be that big of a book.

Why, yes. I’ll be looking up Chuck’s other books after thoroughly enjoying this one. So, that was where I got really surprised, [where] it got really away from me in terms of what I expected.I think it gave me the instinct that, even if we're not all going to be okay in the sense that everything is "Fine," we have been here before, bad places.Not to downplay any of those atrocities. They are causing quite a stir, some call them the Devil's Pilgrims while others refer to them as God's Chosen Ones.

My all time favorite books in this type of genre are The Stand, Swan Song, The Book of M, The Passage, and now... Wanderers! I tried so hard. I slogged through a third of it — I’ve earned the right to give it my rating.DNF @ page 300.
