I only played it on the iPhone, although it would of been nice to try this out on the iPad and I think for a game like this, it could make the difference having a larger screen.Wayward Souls truly shines as a beautiful, well done game with a huge learning curve that may make some shy away from its difficulty level, but others will find that the challenge makes the game truly stand out above the rest.
It's quite a difficult game, but within that lies the challenge and ultimately the fun. It isn’t perfect, but for anyone who likes action-RPGs or a worthy challenge, Wayward Souls is a solid choice. This game reminds me of the old classics, where you can't just walk throughA perfectly executed rogue-like, and finally, a real challenge! You start off with a choice of three characters at the beginning of the game, and more are unlocked as you go through the main quest or side-missions. I also noticed when the screen has a lot of enemies, it would get overwhelming trying to run, throw, and swing a sword.

It features quick, twitch-based combat where tactics, positioning, and timing matter, controlled through touchscreen gestures. This kind of thing simply makes you want to strive to go even farther.The dungeons within Wayward Souls are randomized every time you die, and monsters change from demons throwing pick axes to worms that dig underground and pop up right behind you.Coming from this, it never gets old when you have to go through the first half of the dungeon again.

This really surprised me how well the developers took even the sound design very seriously when they made this game.The controls in Wayward Souls are tight with only a few hiccups, like when I tried to swing my sword I would mistakenly throw out an ax or put my shield up. The game, which is a spiritual successor of Mage Gauntlet , thrusts players into three dungeons where they have one life, a limited amount of health, the character's special abilities, and occasional power-ups, upgrades, and coins that can be collected. So learning how to play intelligently, with only using the upgrades as little ways to enhance one's overall strategy, are key. It does seem to have a lot of depth. The game-play is intuitive and feels very natural, which is something lacking from a lot of action games out there right now. Replay value is outstanding on this title.
