Binge Central For this type of film, there have to be better choices.
The two Oscar-winning stars are great fun, but the other characters as written are too annoying for the actors to salvage them. The start of the movie is a funeral; the attendants give awkward condolences to the widow and the two leads' lives are shown in a depressing downward spiral. Loved it! An absurd plot played like a poorly written slap-stick comedy that degenerates with each passing moment. I find it insulting and hence I cannot give it more than a 1 star. Everything is overdone with no reason behind it. Which is a shame, it had such potential. Senior-citizen adventure-comedy is unlikely to engage teens. Directed by Andy Tennant. Unfortunately, the writer who came up with that 10 minutes of witty dialogue must have been the one getting buried that day, because the rest of the movie amounted to a screwball comedy for senior citizens. And then .the film quickly went from fun and silly to, well, rather dumb. Meanwhile, insurance investigator Alvin Vespucci (Howard Hesseman) and Crystal chase them to retrieve the money.
