VE Day marks the end of a war in which tens of millions of lives were lost and the course of world history changed forever. Talbot House was a place where all distinctions of rank were prohibited and soldiers could find a place to reflect in the garden and write to loved ones back home. More than one million people celebrated in the streets throughout the UK to mark the end of the European part of the war.
