Always felt comfortable/ at home when there. I pray that they can get up and running again very soon.I went to order dinner for 3 from the best restaurant in our Hood & to support David & his beautiful “ pet”on Monday . But there are also a lot of other things to “donate” to. 1.24 mi. ❤️❤️Terrible news, we loved Fred’s and went there for many years. Fred’s has been my go-to place for many, many years. There was a kitchen fire at Fred’s restaurant, at 202 West 83rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue on Tuesday night.“The call came in at 10:52 p.m,” the FDNY reported. Fred’s is a gem, and David and all of the staff are so warm and lovely. My go-to place for hamburgers, and Fred’s has lots of other good food, also.Ohhh no….one of my favorite fixtures of the neighborhood and the place where I first met my life partner 6+ years ago, so it has an extra special place in our hearts. We’ve missed it in social isolation.
It’s just strange that they’d mention the insurance initially, and it has now been removed from the GoFundMe page. Fred’s was the first place i told my (now) husband that I loved him on our 3rd date 12 years ago. One of our favorite places. If it would get them back up and running, once this crazy time is over, I know my family and I would contribute willingly!That was our “Cheers”! Fred’s is irreplaceable!Sending good vibes to them.
From David and Kim to Natalie, Kennedy, Hallid, etc. “12 units and 60 fire personnel arrived and put water on the fire. Dave and staff are very nice accommodating people. The damage was really heavy, and at this point has no idea where it started and what the next steps are. We hope everyone is alright and comes back stronger than ever.
The most underrated and special restaurant in the city. Just hope majority of Fred’s / Dog pics etc ..was salvageable . But that doesn’t mean that their cause is necessarily more worthy than others. Carl, Susan and now 16yr old FIONA.I lived down the block when Fred’s opened and became a regular. A great hangout for many years. All rights reserved. It isn’t wrong to question it.They raised $70+k already. Chopped salad at the bar! He puts smiles on people’s faces when he checks on them to see how they are enjoying their meals. We have ordered from them to support them during this time. It always felt warm and friendly and dog friendly sitting outside with our black lab.
Not one of our neighbors here “crawled out of a sewer”. Hope David and Kim can get going again. We need to do what ever we can to help him. It was under control by 11:40 p.m. Dave is one of the most genuine, honest hard working family guy we know and this just goes to the core.
Even when I moved from the Upper East Side to Brooklyn in 2011, I would stop in there for a drink or a meal every time I was anywhere near that neighborhood. They’ve even removed the mention of insurance from the GoFundMe page. Fred’s will be the first restaurant we visit after this is over.
