Angeles Crest is a pretty famous highway in the SoCal area and is known for it's nice twisty roads.Going on this road was recomend to us as better way of getting out of LA fast .within 25 mins of picking bikes up we were enjoying a more relaxed ride through stunninging senery .fantastic roads with every sort of bend bikers enjoy.if you have never been across this route you have missed something special.I love cruising with my husband and this is one of the best rides you can have. Come here for a nice sat/sum drive especially when you need time to relax. Winding, and beautiful. Great spot for a wonderful view of the city! I am sure there is animals out here as well as people that might not be very friendly. Campgrounds and hiking trails as you go deeper in. The building is crowned by a dome with several tiers, the hoghest point of which is more than 60 meters from the ground.

This high way has lots of turns and a few spots in which you are able to park your car and over look the city we call home. If you go up at least 6,000 ft of elevation during the winter, you will see snow. Lots of great areas to hike from this road as well.A fantastic drive from La Canada Flintridge to Wrightwood, CA. Beautiful city lights at night, gusty winds, silence and peacefulness. This highway has been a long time favorite for my husband and I to get away from the city. Lots of motorcyclists, and sports cars going very fast, so be careful.… Look forward to my next ride up the crest to explore Wrightwood (road to Wrightwood was closed when I went), Newcomb's Ranch, Mt Wilson, San Gabriel Reservoir, or Mt Baldy... so many places to see and visit.This is such a beautiful road to drive through in the Angeles National Forest, just north of Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena. We drove from Highland, CA to Flintridge, CA on the Rim of the World Scenic Byway (CA138) and the Angeles Crest Highway (CA2). The road can get dangerous because it's very curvy. Angeles Crest Highway SR-2 is scenic highway from La Canada to Wrightwood. Fill up your gas tank beforehand, bring snacks and toilet paper.Always enjoy driving on this highway! I decided to drive up into Angeles Just be mindful of the cyclists as they hog the roads thinking they own it. The benefit of going on the weekday is that it was not crowded. It is basically a great place for anyone that is into great views and a nice outdoor experience.
You will see a bunch of people riding their motorcycles, and sports cars, so just be a little careful.I'm originally from Hawaii and this was a heartwarming drive. They go for long drives, they drive stupidly on it, and just do all sorts of crap on it.Beautiful road, views, and no traffic (except some weekends with bikers, cyclist, and "racers"). I would recommend driving farther into the mountain and away from the light pollution, but the Perseids offer many bright shooting stars that are easily viewable.Beautiful spot to look over the city with smooth roads. Plenty of shady spots, turnouts, and vista points. It's close proximity to Burbank/Glendale makes for beautiful drives into the Angeles National Forest.
